China names ‘Dream Vessel' spacecraft it hopes will take astronauts to the moon

China’s space agency has announced the names of the spacecraft it plans to send astronauts to the moon. The China Manned Space Agency revealed that progress is on track for the development of the Mengzhou spaceship, Lanyue lunar lander, and Long March 10 rocket. These vehicles are part of China’s ambition to establish itself as a major space power and become the second country to touch down on the moon. The Mengzhou spacecraft will consist of a reentry module and a service module, while the Lanyue lunar lander will accommodate two astronauts and a rover. The names were chosen from public proposals, and the missions are aligned with China’s space goals for national rejuvenation and technological advancements. Other countries, including the United States and Japan, have also been actively pursuing lunar missions as part of their space programs.
